Job Description:

The Sales Assistant is a highly-motivated individual responsible for helping keep plastic materials out of landfills. Individuals should have problem-solving skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with room for advancement. Tasks include finding new sources of plastics customers, cold-calling, and account and data management.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Find new potential clients and turn them into daily contacts
  • Schedule in-office meetings with new clients
  • Maintain (exceed) weekly and monthly goals
  • Work within in the policies and procedures of Sales Department
  • Manage existing clients by developing long term relationships
  • Answer customer questions pertaining to procedure, material or product claims
  • Design and create marketing campaigns and products offers
  • Send out product flyers and post material advertisements on B2B websites
  • Research technical data (chemical resistance, high impact strength, clarity weather ability, high flow, and melt index
  • Understand product grade, quality, form and vast knowledge of plastic polymers
  • Research virgin polymer prices and maintain monthly report
  • Work with other departments to provide clients with pertinent information
  • Create sample package containing necessary information and send to customers
  • Monitor order bookings by coordinating with logistics manager
  • Provide customer with loading photos once available
  • Follow-up with accounting to ensure complete and correct consignee and notify party information
  • Keep customer database updated with existing, new and potential customer information
  • Create Dispatch Orders from PO’s for material purchases
  • Generate sales and open order report, and update current "best" price
  • Assist India office with necessary information and or pictures
  • Back-fill for receptionist when necessary at Front Desk
  • Other tasks as assigned by Sr. Sales Manager

Experience and Skills:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

- Organizational, verbal and written communications skills a must

- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is an asset

EDUCATION: 4-year accredited College graduate

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be organized
