Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop complete understanding of all production lines and
associated equipment.
2. Provide technical knowledge to
implement safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
3.
Knowledge of customer products, raw materials, and product
characteristics.
4. Prepare documentation such as process
instructions, work instructions, forms, etc… to properly document
the necessary processes.
5. Provide necessary support in
developing plant’s production schedule.
6. Communicate with
customers on routine basis to discuss technical data, product
performance, etc...
7. Help train and support operations
personnel and supervision.
8. Provide necessary input and
assistance to new products, projects, etc…
9. Communicate and
provide input to maintenance for troubleshooting or maintaining of
equipment.
10. Assist in proper handling and management of
customer owned raw materials.
11. Provide leadership coverage
where needed.
Qualifications:
1.A bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical Engineering from
a 4-year college or university; plus at least 10 years related
experience or training or equivalent combination of education and
training, and 5 years of supervision experience in an
unionized manufacturing facility.
2. Strong technical
knowledge of plastic compounding/extrusion
3. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Strong leadership,
decision-making, and problem-solving skills
5. Strong
reasoning skills, ability to analyze problems, collect and
interpret data, establish facts, and draw valid
conclusions.
6. Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma
is a plus
